Matthew Kahoohanohano

Heʻeia National Estuarine Research Reserve

Matthew Kahoʻohanohano is an ʻŌiwi scholar from the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. He is a student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa working on a PhD in Botany through the School of Life Sciences and works as a graduate research assistant for the Heʻeia National Estuarine Research Reserve. His research focuses on the role of agroecology in biocultural restoration and he imagines a future of increased resilience for his community.
