Rocio Araya

Deakin University

I'm a PhD student at the Blue Carbon Lab based at Deakin University, Melbourne. I have a background in Agricultural Science and completed a Master's in Nature Conservation at the University of Chile, Chile. My research experience combines using remote sensing data, geographic information systems (GIS), and spatial analysis. Currently, my research is directed towards remote sensing in blue carbon ecosystems, applying spatial planning tools to prioritize saltmarsh restoration across agricultural landscapes, and trying to understand the costs and motivation of coastal wetland resolution in Australia.
