University of the Sunshine Coast

I have been teaching Restoration Ecology at the University of the Sunshine Coast for more than 20 years. I was one of Australia’s pioneers in integration of Molecular Ecology and on ground field work. I Initially focussed on threatened plants and their conservation and recovery and have been involved in the use of modelling both habitats and populations and linking these to genetic studies and species translocations, but my focus has expended to communities. I oversaw one of the largest plant community translocations in Australia  which was undertaken in response to developer and local council requirements and this project along with others contributed to the development of the Qld offsetting requirements legislation in 2014
