Flinders University

My research uses DNA-based survey of soils and environments to help better understand the beneficial connections between microbes, soil, plants, and ecosystems - in the context of ecological restoration, and in contributing to environmental and human health. I work within Flinders University's College of Science and Engineering in the lab group of Assoc Prof Martin Breed, both collaborating on and leading research activities, involving restoration ecology, genomics and healthy environmental microbiomes. My current post-doctoral research role is focussed on 'restoring health-promoting soil biodiversity' (https://www.peoplecitiesnature.co.nz/soil-biodiversity) as part of the Aotearoa New Zealand based People, Cities and Nature research program.
