Rafael Bitante

Biologist, postgraduate and Environmental Management from the School of Agriculture -Luiz de Queiroz - University of São Paulo, is currently manager of forest restoration of the NGO SOS Atlantic Forest Foundation.

Brief history - worked as a technician in the company Bioflora between 2005 and 2006, responsible for the native seeds sector and extension in the program of environmental and agricultural adequacy of sugarcane mills, linked to the Laboratory of Ecology and Forest Restoration – LERF, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ricardo R. Rodrigues. He started working at the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation in 2006, as an external consultant. For 17 years working in this institution, reaching the position of forest restoration manager in 2016, exercising this same function currently. Responsible for the area of forest restoration and Forest Experiment Center – SOS Mata Atlântica.

Member of the Pact for the restoration of the Atlantic Forest since 2009, and member of the council of this movement in the 2019-2020 administrations; 2021-2022 and 2023-2024. He is also a representative on the Executive Committee of the Forest Code Observatory and at the São Paulo Forest Forum.
