Associate Professor Bryan Maybee is a Mineral Economist and Mine Planning Engineer in the Discipline of Minerals and Energy Economics at Curtin University’s Western Australian School of Mines, and leads the Risk, Evaluation and Planning program in the Cooperative Research Centre for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME).
His research is in the areas of project evaluation, risk management and tax administration as applied to the resources sector. Through the application of theories and tools from the finance industry he has worked with governments, mining, and METS companies globally to develop tools and methodologies that improve mine planning and strategic decision-making processes. He provides learning programs on matters of taxation and project evaluation for emerging minerals-based economies, is a Consultant to the World Bank, and a member of the MRIWA College of Experts.
